Baking SodaImage by DBarefoot via Flickr

Today's  tip is about cleaning up spills. I used to work at a retail store where spills happened almost daily. We used to use a powdered formula that soaked up spills almost immediately. Well, that's good for commercial use, but what about home spills?

Baking soda has a similar effect on spills. Next time you spill anything from soda to oil, sprinkle enough baking soda to cover the spill plus a little extra and allow the baking soda to absorb the liquid. Then sweep it up (or scoop it up) and mop later when you have the time.
