iTunes Freebies

iTunes isn't just for Mac and iPod users. They have a great PC application that allows you to download music, videos, TV shows, e-books, college courses, and of course iPod apps. The best thing about iTunes is that they tend to give away lots of stuff for free such as behind the scenes videos of shows and movies, a weekly music song download, and a weekly music video download.

Right now they also have the first full season of "10 Things I Hate About You" rated TV-14 for FREE (advertised on their FB page). If this title sounds familiar it's because this series is based off of the same titled movie starring Julia Styles, Jason Gordon Levitt, and  the late Heath Ledger. This was one of my fave movies and I'm eager to see if this series holds up to the quality of the movie. Anyways the normal cost of each TV episode is around $1.99 and for a limited time you get all 10 episodes of the first season.

If you don't have iTunes download it free here.
Then go here to download your free episodes of "10 Things I Hate About You."

Have a great night!

Easter Accessories

Yesterday in the mail I received my daughters Easter accessories from The Children's Place -  a white sun hat, white Mary Jane shoes, and white ruffled socks (to match her pink dress and white cardigan.)

My favorite part about this purchase would have to be that I paid $4.72 for all of it including shipping. I managed this using the rewards I received through Swag Bucks. The shoes were $10.50, the socks $2.50, and the sun hat $4.74 (normally $6.50) - then tax and $5.00 shipping. I used 4 $5 Amazon e-gift cards and paid the remainder.

If you're not using Swag Bucks, you really are missing out. Swag Bucks awards "Bucks" (like points) through your internet searches (using them as your search engine instead of Google, Yahoo, etc.) These are normally 10-30 Swag Bucks and are awarded randomly. Then Swag Bucks offers Swag Codes that add Swag Bucks to your account as well. They also have special offers that you can complete for bucks with no purchase some necessary. You can redeem your bucks for prizes and gift cards in the Swag Store. I personally love the $5 Amazon e-gift cards because they're 450 bucks each and you can buy almost anything on Amazon cheaper than in stores! I have earned 8 of these gift cards in the past two months using all these ways listed. Check out  Swag Bucks here and feel free to comment if you have any questions.

P.S. - Mega Swag Bucks Friday starts tonight at 12 midnight where you can earn larger bucks for searches if you get lucky! Also, tomorrow is Freebie Friday in the land of freebie bloggers where the best freebies of the week are listed. I'm going to try to get a list together of some sites for you to check out but in the meantime try searching the sites tomorrow to get some Swag Bucks going! =)

Book Review: Zondervan's "Busy Mom's Bible"

I am like most adults, I want a better relationship with God and am a work in progress. I have received a free copy of this book by Zondervan to review. The thoughts and opinions contained in this review are solely mine and were in no way swayed by anyone.

A few weeks ago I received a free copy of this book in the mail. Since then I have done a few of the inspirations, which are designed to promote Bible study for even the busiest of mom's. They are broken down into 1 minute, 5, and 10 minute devotionals depending on the amount of time that you have to study. These do literally take minutes to read. I start off with the 1 minute inspirations when the baby dozes off and then, depending on time, I continue on to the 5 and 10 minute studies. Reading this book has literally taken "me-time" to a whole new level for me spiritually. This book is especially helpful for me after stressful times with a fussy baby. I feel refreshed and hopeful after reading and if that is the only alone time I get that day, it's fine. This would make a great gift to any mom.

Free $10 credit to bTrendie

bTrendie is self described as "An exclusive shopping site where moms and moms-to-be can shop for fabulous products at amazing prices." Thanks to Money Saving Mom's post, I found out about this great deal where if you create an account $10 will be credited to your account. Currently they have specials on children's umbrellas, hats, and rain boots that end up being less than $5 shipped! Even if you don't find anything today, they have another sale starting in a few days for bibs and blankets 40% off (which is what most likely to use my credit on.)

You can select something less than $10 and the remainder of your credit will be applied to shipping costs. If its more than $10 you will pay the difference plus shipping. Get your free $10 credit here.

$5 Sears Giftcard for 5 Reviews

I found this great article from Frugal Island from Twitter. Write 5 qualifying product reviews for either Sears or Kmart and receive a $5 e-giftcard. This is actually through Viewpoints. You will have to create a new account though on the Kmart or Sears review page (your Viewpoints account will not link to the Kmart or Sears review accounts.) The reviews only have to be 250 characters (around 45 words) in length on any products you want, not just those you bought from these stores. It took me about an hour to do all five of mine (in between playing with my daughter). I did a sixth just in case one ends up not qualifying. The promotion just opened up yesterday but is limited to the first 1000 qualifiers or ends on March 31st whichever is first. My bet is on the 1000 qualifiers. Your reviews can take up to 72 hours to be reviewed so try to get them done asap before this hits the bigger blogs.

Get started here.

Complimentary Movie Download

DivX is giving away free full-movie downloads (one per email address.) This was advertised on their Twitter page and email newsletter. The last time that they offered this great deal was around the beginning of the new year and the only movie choice was "Batman Begins". This movie is still available and this time they are also offering:
  1. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
  2. Two Weeks Notice
  3. Ace Ventura - Pet Detective
  4. The Green Lantern: First Flight
Check out the giveaway here. (And yes this is 100% legal movie downloading. DivX is a credible movie source and application. Most of these movies are sold on the same site for at least $9.99 when there are no giveaways going on)

Best bet is to get yours now. This deal WILL go fast!! Follow Film Fresh on Twitter to know about the next giveaways as they become available.

I ordered them for Christmas for our parents and then again for Valentines. I like that they reopen this code ever few months to let everyone see the quality of these cards. This time I will be making Easter cards. You will have to pay shipping which is only $.99 and tax which should bring your total to around $1.05!

Lastly, Shutterfly is having a contest which you can check out here. Everyone who uploads a birthday photo or video will receive 25 free 4x6 prints for their first entry into the contest. You will have to pay shipping on these too which should only be a few dollars. I plan to do this one as well but I have to locate a birthday photo first! I'm ashamed to say I don't have many around. Reminiscing...

Looking at my precious daughter sleeping makes me daydream about how she used to be 7 months ago - her scrawny frame, wrinkly skin, tiny toes, misshapen head (due to being extracted) making her my precious alien-like child. Well that scrawny frame has turned into a whopping protruding belly (she's chunkyyy!) and her head is beautifully round. My baby is so big now. She wants to hold her own bottle and sits up on her own. Even though I'v been home with her every day of her life, I still look at her like "when did you grow up on me!"

Unintentionally, my husband has given me the greatest gift besides our daughter - the gift of being with her during the day. I shudder at the thought of daycare or the nursery at the church, which I have only done once (and with guilt.) I feel like every moment away from her I could be missing out on something important. Ah, the life of a first time mom...

In my mailbox today...

I'm very excited about my freebies today! Things like these make it worth the search:

  • Busy Moms Devotional Bible by Zondervan (requires review but worth it!)
  • 8x10 Photo Collage from Walgreens (shipped for free too!)
  • Kashi Warm Cinnamon Cereal sample from Vocalpoint
  • Tea Sample 2pk from Yogi (was NOT expecting a second one : ))
  • Coupon for Free High Liner Sea Cuisine Product
My absolute favorite out of these has to be the Bible. My last one was damaged by water and I never got around to buying another. The other one had such sentimental value (a high school graduation present from my youth group leader in church) and I guess that I felt like I was betraying that bible by buying another (I know its silly.) I found out about this freebies on Twitter. If you don't have a twitter, I suggest that you think about giving it a try. I used to think it was a silly idea but I tried it (just to get the scoop on all the latest freebies.) These tweets are often posted as soon as the freebie is found so you're almost certain to get in the freebies as they are released. Feel free to check me out on Twitter (curlygurl87) and have a look at the people I am following and your certain to come away with some great stuff!

Don't be discouraged when you sign up for freebies and samples. I try to forget about them as soon as I sign up because you never know if the sponsor will run out before they get to your request. When I do get some (80% or more actually make it to my mailbox) I'm very excited! Never give up

Are you a RewardsRUs Member?

Ok, so I'm a cheapskate when it comes to purchasing diapers for my daughter, but I feel like I have to be given our finances right now. I refuse to buy pricey diapers just because of its brand name recognition. In my limited experience, Pampers have succumbed to a diaper explosion or leak out every now and then, just like Wal-mart's Parent's Choice ones. I have changed diapers several times in the 7 months since my daughter has been born mostly because of what deal is going on at the moment. It's not like she realizes that she is not wearing designer diapers (ah the teenage years to come.) Babies R Us had awesome deals on over the weekend for its Rewards R Us members. One being for diapers and wipes. For $40 you rewards members received 2 boxes of diapers in any sizes (up to 192ct) and one box of wipes (up to 616ct.)

Normally these diapers retail for $19.99 each and then the wipes for $8.00. These diapers actually end up being cheaper (around 3 cents less per diaper) than the Parent's Choice diapers. Check out their website for more info on their rewards program here.
