Review: "Gabby, God's Little Angel" by Sheila Walsh

by - Saturday, October 22, 2011

This is the first book in Sheila Walsh's new series.

Gabby, a guardian angel in training whose job is to show God's love. The angels are watching children play on earth and see an adventurous girl named Sophie. At first glace, Gabby thinks that Sophie needs a "very big, ginormous angel" only to find that God has chosen her to be Sophie's guardian angel. After a wild experience, Sophie realizes that it seems as though someone was protecting her. Her mom reads her a Bible verse from Psalms to show her how God sends his angels to protect the ones he loves.

This story is so wonderful to read, especially if you have an adventurous child in need of a lot of protection like Sophie. With my own young daughter, it seems as though she needs a lot of protection too. {*laughs*} It teaches our children about God's love and serves as a lovely reminder to us that we are always protected, even if we cannot see it. The story also serves to show us that even though things might seem as though they are too big for us, we are more capable with God than we ever thought possible. Wonderful messages of God's love for us.

I definitely recommend this book, especially with the holiday season right around the corner. This will surely delight both the children and the parents reading it to them.
