Are You a Woman of Faith?

This summer has been all about renewing and building my relationship with God. Over the past few years, I have let life get in the way of that relationship, but He was there all along trying to get my attention. I did finally get the message and have made God first in my life. Let me share with you that those years without my church family and having that fellowship with other Christians, my life just had a BIG hole in it.

That's why I'm so excited to be back home and on the right path!

Having just recently joined the ladies group this summer, for the first time I am truly learning what it means to be a woman of faith and am blessed to be surrounded by spiritually mature women of faith at my church. Almost every fall, the ladies group at my church attends the Women of Faith event in Atlanta, GA. I have always heard how amazing these events are for the ladies and was so excited when Booksneeze.com offered me the opportunity to attend and blog about this year's event!

There will be speakers, musical guests and more! Since this is my first time attending, I was happy to find this preview video to get an idea of how amazing it will be to experience in person.

Here are a few facts about Women of Faith event's:
  • Began in 1996
  • Over 4 million women have attended an event
  • Events lasts 2 days but "the effect of those two days can last a lifetime."
  • There are 28 events scheduled for fall 2011
  • 160,000 children have been sponsored through World Vision by Women of Faith attendees.
I'm looking forward to learning more about God while enjoying fellowship with others at the Women of Faith conference in Atlanta. Have you ever been to this event here or in another city? Book Review: "Learning" by Karen Kingsbury

Have you been keeping up with Bailey and Cody since our last meeting with them in "Leaving" by Karen Kingsbury? Kingsbury has given us more of our favorite characters with book two in the Bailey Flanigan series, titled "Learning."

Synopsis: Bailey Flanigan is growing closer to her dream to be an actress and dancer in New York while Cody coaches a small high school football team ... on and off the field. But neither feels complete without the chance to share their dreams with one other. Can distance truly make the heart grow fonder? Or will Cody learn to turn to others to share in his happiness? And when tragedy strikes? Who will be there to provide comfort in the face of loss? As Cody's past catches up with him, he must learn to reach out for help or risk withdrawing permanently inside himself. Both Bailey and Cody find themselves learning significant life lessons in this poignant love story, featuring members from Karen Kingsbury's popular Baxter family.

Just Me & My Daughter

I really have to apologize for the lack of posting. There has been a change in our family structure. My husband has decided to leave our family to go his own way. I have not been myself lately and have really lost energy (and weight). Please bear with me while I continue to get my strength back and my life back, better than ever.

In addition to being a mom, I've now taken another role as single parent. In some ways, I was already that, but now that it's no longer a choice, I feel so overwhelmed. I will be strong and dismiss the "coulda, woulda, shoulda's" to say that I have been doing a lot of soul searching and will continue to do so. I have learned that in ALL things God MUST come first. Anything that takes you away from that or interferes with that relationship is a red flag of bad times coming.

One verse that has given me  comfort today:
Psalm 28:6,7 NIV
"Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my shield; me heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."

If you'd like to leave me any links to resources, I would love to check them out. Knowledge is power and sheds light in the darkness

Thanks guys. Love you!
