Visiting a Life-Sized Gingerbread Village!!
Like a childhood dream come true, is the experience of City Place Plaza's 2nd annual Gingerbread Village in Spring, Texas!
"Come experience City Place’s second annual Gingerbread Village where a trail of giant candy canes, lollipops, gumdrops, gingerbread men, and cookie trees, lead to a 16-foot high house and 12-foot tall windmill."
We went on Christmas Eve, just before 5pm. Parking was much easier than expected, finding a spot across from the main entrance of the park. As we passed by the shops, there was a heavenly aroma that begged us to come and enjoy. We were on a mission though.
From the entrance we could see a massive Christmas tree, seemingly floating on the lake. Just beyond that we could see the Gingerbread Village! The walk through the park and around the pond was beautiful. There were touches of modern landscaping, balancing with nature. It was just adventurous enough for the kids to enjoy as well as easy to walk for our grandma. We were all taking photos the entire way!
Two giant gingerbread men guard the entrance to the village. I would have thought it would have been packed but it felt just right. Not too busy, nor too quiet. We were able to take all the pictures we wanted with minimal interruption or photobombs. Selfies galore! Some families were even having professional photoshoots in their cute matching outfits and pajamas. (I'm already picturing us doing this next year, if I can get hubs on board!)
From the youngest to the oldest, we all had a blast! Somehow, this experience is free to visit! No reservations or invitations needed. We will definitely be going back!
