"If you were to set aside a part of one day every week to explore all the pieces of who you are, what would you find?"

A Collection of Wednesdays: Creating a Whole from the Parts

And that is exactly what Amy Gaither Hayes has done with her Wednesday mornings. Every week, the author took time to reflect on a piece of who she it. From these reflections, beautiful poems have been created. When Hayes sat down and looked over these reflections she found themes in her life and was able to put them together to get a better sense of self. She found purpose and closeness with God in her weekly writings.

A Collection of Wednesdays: Creating a Whole from the Parts is written in an organized grouping of Hayes' reflections. Each theme begins with a story, followed by two poems from her Wednesday morning writings - very reader friendly. I enjoyed how refreshing this book was. This book shows the importance of grabbing just one morning, whether it be just a few minutes or a few hours if lucky. Parents with children of all ages will find that very comforting.

I found that using the books themes as a starting topics to writing your own reflections was very helpful in beginning my own reflections as to who I am and who God wants me to be. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a better sense of self and would be very nice as a gift to someone special.

Disclosure: I was provided a copy of this book without charge by the publisher, Zondervan, in order to write this review. All opinions are mine.
