Orgazined & Eco-Friendly with Staples
by
Tiffany
- Wednesday, June 26, 2013
My family got a late start to spring cleaning this year. It was practically summer before we took the time to re-organize our home. Our office area was no exception. There we keep all of our important documents, reference materials, and worksheets for our daughter and more. One of our main priorities was to reduce our clutter and find ways to lessen our impact on the environment. We were introduced to Sustainable Earth™ by Staples, their new line of eco-friendly products.

Positive Change From What We're Taught

Tiffany
- Monday, April 08, 2013
I grew up with both of my parents. My mom was mostly laid back except when it came to my safety. My dad, an army vet, was a bit more strict. Mom definitely let me get away with a few things here and there.
As with all parent-child relationships, there were some really great things that they instilled in me and some that have become a bit of a roadblock at times. One such case, I came face-to-face with this weekend. I have the hardest time asking for help...with anything. My dad instilled in me not to depend on anyone and if I cannot do it myself then that’s that. For example, when we didn’t have a car, we walked everywhere in lieu of asking for rides from family. Those grocery trips could be a workout. So when I got older, I walked everywhere I went to, or paid for a taxi if I had the money and it was too long of a trip. It was only until I met my boyfriend (now husband) that I began to see that asking isn’t a bad thing. He actually preferred me not to walk and would go out of his way (and his mom’s way) to make sure I had a ride home from class.
"Unglued" Key Tags Giveaway {5 Winners!}
by
Tiffany
- Friday, April 05, 2013
I recently read and reviewed "Unglued: 60 Days of Imperfect Progress” Devotional by Lysa TerKeurst, which you can see my post about here. I loved the book so much that I checked out her website for extra resources and came across her "Unglued" themed key tags. I ordered several thinking of family, friends and decided to do a giveaway to go along with the review of the book.
I have been using my key tags for a few weeks and found them very helpful. I attached mine to some ribbon on the outside of my purse for easy access. I find myself repeating some daily and others several times daily. Sometimes, we need an extra reminder throughout the day and I can't say enough how awesome these have been for me. I hope they will be for some of you too.
- "If this is the worst thing that happens to me today, it's still a pretty good day." (I say this one over and over the most!!)
- "The one who holds the tongue, holds the power."
- "My feelings are indicators, not dictators."
- "Am I trying to prove that I am right, or improve the relationship?"
I have 5 sets of these key tags to give away to my readers. US only 18 and older. To enter, fill out the form below.

Last year, I shared with you about Shutterfly Yearbooks, a great alternative to the costly versions we had growing up (and some of our kids have now, yikes!) They are very affordable, with prices as low as $6 per book, come in several sizes, hard cover or soft cover and all with the same high quality printing from Shutterfly. These are not only great for schools, but also clubs and organizations, too. And guess, what...they've just unveiled a brand new style called "Best in Class." With the new design has also come the new feature of parents being able to order their yearbooks directly online!!
My Traveling Husband
by
Tiffany
- Friday, February 22, 2013
My husband just started a new job assignment, which takes him to California two weeks at a time, with me and our 3 year old in Texas. To be honest, I didn't want him to take the assignment but I know how much it means to him. It's not going to be easy, nor has it been the best past 3 days, but I'm up for the challenge. I must say it has been fun to stay up late talking to him via facetime. It almost felt like we were teens again. And the good morning calls and texts make my heart melt. I still miss my guy though.
{Not So} #Wordless Wed - "Mommy, Don't Write in the Bible!"
by
Tiffany
- Wednesday, February 20, 2013
Monday evening when we arrived home from work and daycare my daughter starts flipping through the pages of one of my Bibles. To her surprise, she found something unusual on the pages. There they were... bright...yellow...highlights!!!! In usual fashion and tone she inquired, "Mommy, youuuu did this?!" I couldn't help but laugh, which didn't help the situation. "Ooh, you're in trouble! No writing in the Bible!!"
It's hard to explain to a 3 year old that yes the Bible is sacred but it's okay to take notes in the margin and highlight verses that you like. I must've told her one too many times when she first started scribbling that Mommy's Bible pages was off limits, as well as using the cover to sturdy her paper as she drew.
And here we are! Every time she'd flip another page or two, there was another gasp at the highlights. This went on for a few minutes until she heard Daddy's key in the door to which she quickly said "I gotta hide this" and sat awkwardly as he came in. I'm just hysterically laughing at this point and he's bewildered. We tell Daddy that Mommy wrote in her Bible and he starts laughing himself.
One day, she'll get it.

“How to Get Organized in 24 Hours" Review & Giveaway!

Click here to view more details |
Since I went back to work fulltime, I haven’t found that happy balance of taking care of home, family and myself. As women, we often play the dangerous game of comparison. We see other moms seemingly doing it all and either burn ourselves out trying to achieve a never-ending goal, or can go the other way and do our best.
As with everything, I turn to some of my favorite blogs for inspiration. One of those has been AProverbsWife.com, owned by Saidah Washington. I found her site a little over a year ago, looking for resources. I love the printables such as homemaking charts and Bible reading plans. I was so excited to see that see she had created a new organizing workbook, The Official A Proverbs Wife Guide: “How to Get Organized in 24 Hours.”

- Wednesday, January 30, 2013
Last weekend was a busy one for us. Hubby was gone and I had a baby shower to cohost. Friday night was spent between my daughter and assembling the shower decor. Saturday morning was the baby shower, after which we headed straight for the mom expo. A mom expo is essentially a trade show, with booths, events and info geared towards moms. We had a blast! Here's a pic of the sorted goodies we can home with. A full post about what went on at the expo will be posted soon. Stay tuned!
New Family Friendly Movie Info & #Giveaway!!!
by
Tiffany
- Sunday, January 27, 2013
A new, family-friendly animated movie hits theaters next month! On February 15th, The Weinstein Company releases its newest film, "Escape From Planet Earth." This 3D comedy, follows the adventures of Scorch Supernova, a heroic alien astronaut from the planet of Baab, and his not-so heroic, behind-the-scenes brother, Gary. Both brothers work for BASA, the Baab version of our NASA.
When BASA receives an S.O.S. from a dangerous planet named Earth, Scorch jumps at the chance. Gary on the otherhand, no-so-much. Just like most brotherly relationships, Scorch doesn't heed Gary's warnings, heads to the dangerous planet and finds himself in need of rescue instead of the other way around. Little did they know, the S.O.S. was actually a trap set by Shanker, a human who captures aliens and is bent on destroying their home planets.

Review: Stress Point by Sarah Francis Martin
by
Tiffany
- Thursday, January 17, 2013
I have found, just as many of you probably have as well, that being a woman in her twenties isn’t as easy as it looked when you were a teen. There’s so much more stressful situations that I face that I had no clue about and probably the best advice you can get is from someone’s who’s already been there.
That’s why I loved “Stress Point: Thriving through your 20’s in a Decade of Drama.” The book is written by Sarah Francis Martin of She Seeks, the Proverbs 31 ministry geared towards 20-somethings like myself.
Review: Beyond Ordinary by Justin & Trisha Davis

If you have been following my blog for a while, you may remember that in the summer of 2011, I found my marriage falling apart. We were separated, broken and didn’t know what to do. Two months later, we’d reconciled and began the process of being better than ever. In those months during and after, I looked for any and every piece of information I could find on restoring a broken marriage and came across a resource from RefineUs Ministries. RefineUs Ministries is the work of Justin and Trish Davis who use their story in hopes of saving other marriages. I found their story so inspiring and followed them on all the social channels I could to keep up with their great information and resources.
I was so excited when Justin and Trisha announced that they had a book in the works. I was even more excited when they announced they were looking for blogger reviews and the most excited when I was one of the bloggers chosen.
Catching Up

Hey guys!! It's been a while, well about 2 months to be exact. Since Thanksgiving, I’ve went from stay at home mom to a full time working mom. We enrolled our daughter in a nice daycare with a preschool curriculum. She loves it and goes on her first field trip at the end of this month. {tear}
My job is going well. I finally got one in my field (Yessss!) After the door seemed to close, it opened back up about a month later with a better job with the same company. God is Good.
Balancing everything has been hard. Not that I was the best at things domestic, but it seems almost impossible to manage now, but I’m working on it.
I’m going to be working on getting more great content for you soon. Thanks for sticking around!
